Municipal Property Taxes

Property taxes are calculated from assessed property values issued by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation.

Property Taxes are due February 28th and September 30th of each year.  A prompt payment of your account will be greatly appreciated. Penalty will be added to your account at a rate of 1.25% on the balance of any unpaid taxes on the first day of each month thereafter.

You can view a copy of the 2017 Taxation Bylaw .

If you do not agree with the assessed value of your property, you have the right to file a complaint with the Assessment Review Board (ARB), which is an administrative quasi-judicial tribunal of the Province of Ontario. You must file your complaint with the ARB on the appropriate form, along with the required fees and attachments to 250 Yonge Street, 29th Floor, Toronto, ON, M5B 2L7 by March 31st. This form, entitled the Notice of Complaint - Assessment, fee schedule and general information about how to file a complaint can be obtained at the municipal office or directly from 60 Ontario government information centres, MPAC offices, and from the ARB's website at or by calling 1-800-263-3237 or (416) 314-6900.

In 2016, the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) is updating the assessed values of every property in Ontario. All properties will have a legislated valuation date of January 1, 2016. Residential property owners can expect to receive their Property Assessment Notice in late April of 2016. Non-residential Notices will be mailed in the fall of 2016. These values will be used by the municipality to calculate your property taxes for the 2017-2020 property tax years.

For more information on how assessment works, market trends, the Request for Reconsideration process and property assessment and taxation, visit If you would like to see the information MPAC has on file for your property or compare your property to others in your area, you can register and login using the Roll Number and Access Key located on your Property Assessment Notice. Your deadline to file a Request for Reconsideration is listed on your Property Assessment Notice. You have 120 days from the Issue Date listed on your Notice to request a review.
